Time to Celebrate!
Nationally Specially-Abled Pets Day is Tuesday, May 3, 2022 but don't let that stop you from celebrating after that! Plenty of specially-abled pets are up for adoption and need a forever home, and many of them are just as easy to care for as other pets. Here are some ways to celebrate.
What it Might Mean
Some pets have wheelchairs or other special devices to help them get around. If you want to help out a pet requiring less structure specific to their needs, a 3 legged pet might be for you. Cats and dogs with 3 legs often behave as ones with 4. Other pets that need loving homes might have different vision or hearing abilities. Some animals needing specific feeding or medication routines need forever homes too.

As with people though, the important thing is personality. Always provide a forever home to an animal that fits into your life and your heart. If you're looking around it's important to consider all options you're comfortable with, and educate yourself about the specially-abled animals who also need homes and have plenty of love to give.
